Crew Falls 1-0 in Nashville
The Columbus Crew fell 1-0 to Nashville SC in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the MLS Cup playoffs on Sunday night at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Hany Mukhtar scored the only goal of the match in the 30th minute, giving Nashville the advantage in the two-leg series.
The Crew will host Nashville in the second leg of the series on Saturday, October 29th at Lower.com Field. Columbus will need to win by two goals to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.
Match Recap
The Crew started the match brightly and had a few good chances to score in the opening minutes. However, Nashville grew into the game and took control of possession. The Crew struggled to create chances in the second half and Nashville nearly doubled its lead on several occasions.
The Crew's best chance to equalize came in the 80th minute when Aidan Morris hit the post with a shot from outside the box. However, Nashville held on to secure the victory and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
